Ghost Stories Cast Announcement

Four incredible performers will lead you on an exploration of the paranormal in the live stage production this September.

For the first time ever, the original West End production, Ghost Stories, will take to the stage in Australia, Melbourne, at the Athenaeum Theatre from September 16, 2022. We are thrilled to announce the cast that will bring Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson’s thrilling theatrical experience to life.

Starring as PROFESSOR PHILLIP GOODMAN, Steve Rodgers has thirty years of acting experience training at Theatre Nepean at Western Sydney University. A multi-talented actor who also recently won the prestigious 2021 Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award for his most recent play, The Future Is History, commissioned for Belvoir St Theatre. His vast experience in the theatre includes Every Brilliant Thing, Jasper Jones, A Christmas Carol and many more.

Jay Laga’aia, joining us as TONY MATTHEWS, is a multi-skilled actor known for his appearances as Captain Typho in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, as well as Senator Turner in Daybreakers. He is most known for roles on screen in Play School, Home and Away and Xena: Warrior Princess. He has appeared on stage in the likes of Darlinghurst Theatre's Once, Lunchbox Productions' Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and Disney Theatrical's The Lion King.

Darcy Brown, as SIMON RIFKIND, is a proud graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and a Mike Walsh Fellowship Actor. He recently won an award, Matilda Award Winner Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role, in Animal Farm as Squealer/Old Major and has also taken to the stage in Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Oil and Bell Shakespeare Company's Henry V.

Nick Simpson-Deeks, as MIKE PRIDDLE, is a trained actor from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and a Steppenwolf alumnus who received the Mike Walsh Fellowship award. He is a Green Room Award Recipient: Musical Theatre Male Supporting in Falsettos and has several nominations for Green Room Award in Music Theatre for his roles, including Into The Woods as Rapunzel’s Prince for Actor in Support Role, Company as Robert for Actor in Leading Role.
